The Wisdom and/or Madness of Crowds is a thought provoking little interactive experience that explores how information and misinformation spreads through networks of friends and acquaintances.
Created by the talented Nicky Case (The Evolution of Trust, We Become What We Behold), The Wisdom and/or Madness of Crowds is a timely look at how information spreads through human networks. It treats information/misinformation as a virus that can spread through networks of friends in different ways depending on the structure of the network. There are lots of factors involved (and you’re best off playing through the game for a full rundown of them), but it can be surprisingly easy for the information to spread across certain networks.
It’s an eye opening experience and is especially relevant in this age of misinformation and “Fake News”. Yet again Nicky Case does an excellent job of taking a complicated subject and making a fun and easy to follow interactive experience out of it. Highly recommended.
