The Wish Machine is a visually stunning dark Sci-Fi adventure where you go in search of a mysterious alien meteorite that fell from the sky.
Based on the Roadside Picnic story by and Stalker film by A. and B. Strugatsky, The Wish Machine takes place in the frostbitten wastelands of a Soviet era Russia. The area has been decimated by the impact of a meteorite that is rumored to be an extraterrestrial stone which can grant anything your heart desires. With thoughts of helping your badly injured sister, you set out to see if there’s any truth to the rumors…
Taking around 30 minutes to play through, The Wish Machine really impresses with its stunning visuals and eerie atmosphere. The storytelling is pretty minimal, but you can piece together parts of it via a few notes that are scattered around the area. There are no big scares, but there is an overwhelming sense of dread as you explore the frostbitten ruins and venture deeper within them. Highly recommended.
