They Wait For You Beneath the Velvet Sky is a beautiful PS1 styled experience where you find yourself trapped in a surreal dreamworld that you keep returning to.
You’re back there again. The same beach, the same sand, the same dream. You’ve been here many times before, it has changed over the years, and each time you’ll chase an elusive ghost across an empty beach.
Taking around 15 minutes to play through, They Wait For You Beneath the Velvet Sky is a beautiful little experience with some stunning scenery and an intriguing narrative. It’s very much open to interpretation, but the place you’re in seems to represent your dreams and aspirations that will never be fulfilled. It was once a much larger and grander place, but over the years you’ve let many dreams go. The few that remain are also unlikely to be fulfilled, but you still cling on to them for now. Until time takes them all from you.
