Trench Foot: Butcher’s Summit is an incredible standalone Doom total conversion mod, set in the Trench Foot universe, which sees you sent on a suicide mission against an army of militia and cultists to demonic netherworld horrors.
As with CountryCide, Butcher’s Summit is a spin-off of the upcoming Trench Foot Doom total conversion mod. It features three chapters, takes around 2-4 hours to play through and is an incredibly polished experience, complete with extended cutscenes and a real story.
You take on the role of a Templar Knight who is sent into enemy territory along with a small elite squad, to blow up three air defense units that are preventing your air force from attacking. As the game progresses, your forces dwindle and it becomes increasingly unlikely that you’ll survive, but you must soldier on for the sake of the Canonicate.
It’s a remarkable mod, with excellent level design, a very tense atmosphere, satisfying guns and a great story. There are also some very cool secret areas that are well worth seeking out if you really want to descend into the true horror of the world. Highly recommended.
