Umfend is a very freaky first person Sci-Fi horror adventure that sees you assembling equipment for an experiment and being visited by a something sinister.
In Umfend you are a backyard scientist who has been working on an experiment that meddles with things that should perhaps be left well alone. The experiment is almost complete, all you need to do is grab a few more items and hook them up to the apparatus. However, once you assemble the equipment something goes wrong, things go missing, your vision starts to glitch out and there seems to be someone else in your house….
Umfend does suffer a little from the way you have to move into certain areas to trigger certain events (mainly because it can be hard to know where you’re supposed to go to trigger them), but it’s still a very well crafted horror adventure. The glitchy pixelated visual filter helps build a great sense of atmosphere and there’s a nice mixture of jump scares, tension and psychological horror throughout. Highly recommended.
