Valkyrie Command is an excellent little boss rush shoot ‘em up where you pilot a flying mech and attempt to blast three massive biomechanical monstrosities that have invaded earth.
Created for the MechJam II, Valkyrie Command is a fast, fun and challenging little boss rush shoot ‘em up where your little flying mech attempts to fight giant alien robots. The game takes place in the year 20XX when mysterious loathing structures have descended onto Earth. You have been dispatched to investigate, and it looks like the aliens aren’t friendly!
Valkyrie Command features three challenging boss fights with huge bosses that have multiple attacks and two different combat stages. As with any good shoot ‘em up bosses, each one has glowing targets that you need to hit to dispatch them, but in this case the active target switches locations so you need to keep an eye on where you’re aiming (as well as keeping an eye on your character to avoid incoming attacks).
It’s an excellent little bite-sized slice of arcade shoot ‘em up action, with high quality pixel art, well designed bosses, responsive controls, a great soundtrack and challenging gameplay. Sure, those robotic bosses are huge, but size isn’t everything, time to send those aliens packing!
