Veneficium is a very tense first person horror adventure which follows a young witch who goes in search of her grandmother inside a cursed forest.
In Veneficium you take on the role of Abigail, a witch whose coven is being persecuted by witch hunters. Her grandmother has been captured by one of the witch hunters and dragged off into a forest. You now need to make your way through the forest and find her, but you’re not alone – there’s a freaky long-legged monster that hunts via sound. You’ll need to be very quiet if you want to survive this adventure!
Veneficium takes around 30 minutes to play through and features a nice mixture of stealth, exploration and horror. The only real issue is that the fact that you have to gather ingredients to cast spells, which seems a little pointless and breaks up the pacing of the game a little. Other than that it’s an excellent game with a very tense atmosphere, a great story and a very freaky monster. Highly recommended.
