Vincent and the Woodshraad is a Sci-Fi horror fairytale adventure where you summon a giant mythical tree being to fight an alien monster.
In Vincent and the Woodshraad you take on the role of a seven year old boy named Vincent, whose parents have gone out for the night. Your grandpa is around somewhere, but you’re pretty much left alone for the night and there’s some very strange things going down. The sky lights up as an alien spacecraft crashlands in your back garden, killing a mysterious tree being in the process. You’re too small to take on the alien monster yourself, but perhaps there’s some way to summon another tree being to fend off the monster…
Aside from the monster models being little bit rough, the visual design in Vincent and the Woodshraad is excellent. The interior of the house is highly detailed and outside there’s lots of great lighting effects as lightning crackles through the sky. There are a few niggles, such as the flashlight being useless, but on the whole it’s a fun little adventure with plenty of spectacle as fairytales and science fiction collide (literally).
