Vuskhell Station is a very weird and freaky 2D pixel art horror game which follows a new employee working the night shift at a service station that’s harbouring some dark secrets.
A sequel of sorts to Gornom, Vuskhell Station builds on the Gornom legend in some interesting ways as you try to survive your first shift at a 24 hour service station. After restocking the shelves and having a quick game of Breakout it soon becomes apparent that there’s something very wrong at the heart of the station and that the freaky monster Gornom has something to do with it…
The story can be a little hard to follow at times (English isn’t the dev’s first language), but the lore is very intriguing nonetheless and the game does a great job of building tension. The pixel artwork and audio is very well done, there are two very different endings to discover and there are some great little jump scares. It’s a pretty terrifying first shift of your new job – whatever they’re paying it’s not enough!
