Wakamarina Valley, New Zealand is a wonderfully tranquil experience that allows you to wander around a near-photorealistic recreation of Wakamarina Valley (in New Zealand), enjoy the sights and snap some photos with a digital camera.
Created by the talented Caves rd (creator of Mýrdalssandur, Iceland and Explore Fushimi Inari) Wakamarina Valley, New Zealand essentially allows you to go on a virtual walkabout around a scenic woodland valley in New Zealand. There’s a large area to explore and some secrets to discover as you explore and take in the sights and sounds of the tranquil valley. There’s even a camera to discover, which you can use to take snaps of your virtual trip (which are saved to your hard-drive) and if you take pictures of specific places then you can unlock a new area.
Caves rd has a real talent for creating these types of virtual sightseeing experiences and each one really makes you feel like you’ve actually visited that place (particularly if you play in VR). The level of detail is incredible – not just with the near photorealistic visuals, but with the lighting effects and the soundscape too. If you’re getting a little stir-crazy with the current pandemic lockdown, taking a virtual trip to Wakamarina Valley, New Zealand is the perfect antidote. Highly recommended.
