We Don’t Talk About It is a dark and disturbing PS1 styled psychological horror game that explores the fear of self-expression and what happens when love rots into revulsion.
We Don’t Talk About It is a sequel to Rot (though it works perfectly well as a standalone project) and it sees you in the role of a university student who is taking part in a medical trial to earn some cash to pay your tuition fees. In the experiment you stand in a doctors office and listen to random numbers as they are read out to you. The aim being to identify any of the numbers that trigger any powerful emotions in you. The researchers look on via a one-way mirror and things start to get pretty weird, with two numbers in particular triggering some very dark memories.
Taking around 20 minutes to play through, We Don’t Talk About It goes to some pretty dark places during its short playtime. The retro PS1 styled visuals work well with the excellent audio design to create a very oppressive atmosphere. It’s a very unsettling experience and there are some surprising twists that really catch you off guard. Highly recommended.
