We Have to Go Deeper is a fun and beautifully illustrated little arcade adventure where you attempt to pilot a little submarine down to the depths of the ocean while being pestered by a professor.
Created for Ludum Dare 48, in We Have to Go Deeper you take on the role of a downtrodden lab assistant who is piloting a submarine at the behest of an overbearing professor. The professor is obsessed with the secrets that lie at the bottom of the ocean and you have to get him there. However, your submarine is fairly fragile and the professor is keen to point out any mistakes you make!
The game can be controlled entirely with the mouse, with you aiming then holding and releasing the left mouse button to propel you in short thrusts. You need to navigate the labyrinthine network of caverns and make your way to the bottom of the ocean, being sure to avoid hazards along the way.
Taking around 10 minutes to play through, it’s a fairly easy game, but it’s a lot of fun and your professor’s words of “encouragement” are very entertaining. The artwork is particularly impressive and there are some interesting things to discover under the sea. See how quickly you can get there!
