What The Blob !?!! is a clever little physics based puzzle platformer where you control a big slimy blob that can split into two pieces and cooperate with itself.
Created for the Brackeys Game Jam 2021.1, in What The Blob !?!! you take control of a large green blob that needs to divide to conquer the various obstacles in its way. You can divide your big blobby mass into two and switch between control of the two different parts – you’ll need the big blob’s size and the agility of the smaller blobs as you solve the various puzzles in your way.
When in your full-sized blob form you are too heavy to jump, but your weight can have its uses and it allows you to push heavy objects like crates. When you divide in two, you can switch between control of your different halves, jump and operate various switches that open doors and activate elevators.
Taking around 15 minutes to play through, it’s a very well crafted little puzzle platformer that makes great use of your various blobby forms as you make your way through its world. The visual design is excellent (with all the graffiti being a particularly nice touch) and the core concept is very creative. A blobtastic bit of puzzle platforming fun.
