With Extra Seasoning is a surreal, strange and incredibly silly adventure that feels like an interactive meme that’s just survived a horrific car crash, been digested by a sick cat then vomited back onto the sidewalk. The results aren’t pretty but you can’t take your eyes off it!
Created by the same warped mind that brought you TRATEL64, With Extra Seasoning is a clinically insane little third person adventure that revolves around a couple of cops called Billy Sniper and John Daniels, who are attempting to solve a case. There’s very little point in telling you what the case entails as none of it makes any sense anyway, but it’s certainly not boring. The gameplay is fairly limited but between the absurd cut scenes you can wander around a small section of the city, chat to citizens, swap characters and enter missions.
Taking around 15 minutes to play through, you have to be in a certain frame of mind to enjoy the weird mangled mess that is With Extra Seasoning. The visuals make Superman 64 look like Mario Odyssey, the animation makes South Park look like Pixar and if you can understand the narrative then you should probably have a full mental health check-up. Despite (or because of) these things, With Extra Seasoning is a very entertaining experience that you can’t help but be in awe of. A weird, wonderful, broken, bizarre oddity well worth checking out.
