Zak McKracken: Between Time and Space is an excellent fan made sequel to the 1988 original Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders in which he is again on the receiving end of some unwanted alien attention.
Following on from the original, Zak McKracken: Between Time and Space sees you assisting the hapless National Inquisitor journalist as he attempt to escape capture when aliens attempt to board his airplane in mid-flight. The next day he wakes up in his apartment with a bump on his head and a feeling that it was all a dream – but was it?
The original version of Zak McKracken: Between Time and Space was released back in 2008 in German, but recently a Directors Cut was released which features an expanded story, gameplay improvements and full English voice acting. As the majority of it was coded back in 2008, don’t expect cutting edge visuals, but aside from some cut scenes, the quality is very high, and the writing and puzzle design are easily on par with the original. It’s a fun adventure throughout and it’s great to seen one of gaming’s most overlooked point and click adventure hero’s back in action.
