Rooms – Download Game

Rooms is a wonderfully disorientating first person puzzle adventure that sees you taking in beautiful vistas and navigating an Escher-esque non-eucledian space.

In Rooms you find yourself trapped within a network of logically impossible rooms, many of which have windows that allow you to gaze upon beautiful vistas of different planets. At first your progress through the rooms is pretty easy, but as the geometry in the rooms gets more and more Escher-like things get trickier. There is a little platforming, but on the whole you need to experiment and think outside the box to progress – especially when you reach the final section where things get particularly disorientating!

Taking around 15 minutes to play through, Rooms is a remarkable experience that delights with its beautiful views and confuses with its impossible spaces. It’s a very clever piece of game design that forces you to look at its world in a different way. Highly recommended.

  1. “especially when you reach the final section where things get particularly disorientating”..
I kinda completed the largest room with the most doors really quickly by accident, just jumped through 1 or 2 doors and it was done. the room where you fall really far and have to land on the elevated spot probably took longer to complete, just because of the time spent falling. Nice concept though, once I damaged glass by landing on it I immediately knew where it was going. I think I’ve only seen one other game with “portals” where gravity remains relative to you rather than the room.

  2. Nice soundtrack, fun gameplay, beautiful landscapes, love this game!
Wish it was longer though just so I could enjoy it more
also… liked that bit of humour with the credits at the end
finally, did you take the landscapes from Space Engine? Really looks like stuff you’d find in that game

  3. I found your silly little secret in the blue room. I love these kinds of non-euclidean games, and the fact that you went so far as to add the comments just made me want to explore your game further and test the true limits. thank you for a great experience.

    1. i would also stuck around for the after credits part, and managed to get stuck on terrain at the end, like i said i love pushing boundaries. Thank you again for this great experience

  4. The gift that just keeps on giving, sorry to make so many comments, but this game is just wonderful, i managed to get out of bound and explore the game i thought i had fully understood and get a whole new perspective. This has to be one of my favorite games of all time, and it was free!

  5. Just wanted to say thank you for such an intriguing game. I also loved the concept that gravity was relative to the player and not the level. And I walked the whole way through the very long room with your comments. The comments were a very nice touch. I absolutely when a game designer interacts with the player through the game. I walked through the tunnel-like room for a few reasons. 1. As a gamer, I feel drawn to explore every possible area of a game kind of out of respect for the designer and to see what you or any other designer put into their game. 2. Still being a gamer. I always feel like every are has something to offer for the player whether its secrets, special rewards, achievements, or even just the occasional interaction with the designer. Last but not least. 3. I really just felt like it. also just having your comments in there only made me want to walk all the way even more. Overall I really love this game even though it is short I can still tell that a lot of time and effort went in to this game. Thanks for the entertainment. Keep on doing what you love because great games like this are always the result. 🙂
